Synopsis
Duke Theseus of Athens defeats Hippolyta of the Amazons in battle and takes her as his bride. He calls upon his citizens to provide the wedding entertainment. This is a great opportunity for Am Dram star, Peter Quince, but he's going to need some help – are you up for it? Theseus's trusted advisor, Egeus, wants his daughter, Hermia, to marry Demetrius. Hermia has other plans, she's in love with Lysander. Hermia and Lysander plan to run away into the wood to get married. Hermia's best friend, Helena, who's crazy about Demetrius, hears about their elopement and tells Demetrius. The four head into the wood, where the fairies are also in a pickle. King Oberon and Queen Titania have fallen out over a changeling child. Oberon, along with his impish and forgetful sidekick, Puck, weaves his magic against Titania and mayhem ensues. The lovers get into a muddle as to who loves who, Peter Quince's rehearsals taken an extra eee ordinary turn and Titania goes wild for a donkey. It's all resolved in the end and everyone rushes back to town for Theseus's wedding. A magical story or just a dream?
